“Save the Baby Girl”(STBG) is an innovative social initiative started by Kolhapur District Governance to address the problem of falling sex ratio in Kolhapur district. The project was executed by Magnum Opus.

It is found out that under-reporting or false reporting of the cases is one of the main threats to the whole STBG initiative. There may be cases where it is possible not to report a test in regular records or on online reporting system. SIOB is a device that completes the offering by STBG initiative. It is an embedded device that is connected to the VGA port, in between the sonography machine and the monitor through the VGA port. The device offers a ready to use solution to capture VGA output or stream from the machines with VGA output like a variety of computerized equipment, including PCs, servers, projectors, radars, medical equipment, scientific equipment, ATMs, and more. Once the VGA signal is captured, one can broadcast it over the web or archive it for later viewing. The main advantage of having a VGA capture solution over “screencasting” or screen recording is that no software must be installed on the source machine, and the captured signal is a 1:1 copy of the VGA output. It is a non-invasive method to monitor costly machines activities in a way that does not harm such machines or their AMCs/Insurances as the case may be. The device takes VGA input from the PC and stores them in a compressed format to the local drive in a preconfigured video or image format. In case of i-SIOB, on availability of network connection, GPRS/LAN or through Modem, and proper configuration of the server side, the video or images, as configured, are transferred to the server.
